2011/2012 Annual Fund Drive
Dear Itasca Alumni, Friends and Supporters,
As we begin a new college year, we want to share with you the good news about our favorite community college. Named 5th Best Community College in the nation, Itasca is still the best place to start!
Our enrollment continues to grow as more and more students understand the cost effective and powerful start they receive here. Last year our enrollment was record breaking with over 1,300 students on campus. This year’s enrollment is comparable.
We continue to add new members to our dynamic and committed faculty and staff to ensure that students receive the education needed to compete in the current workforce.
State appropriation and tuition revenue along with grants have an economic impact on the Itasca County area of over 20 million dollars. We want you to be aware of this very significant impact and that your support will help continue the strong tradition of excellent educational opportunities for the citizens of our direct area.
However, the state legislature reduced the appropriation to colleges and universities by more than 10% over the next biennium. Subsequently, more of the cost of a college education will be shifted to students through tuition.
With your support, students can receive scholarships to help ease their financial burden and Itasca will be able to provide up to date technology to enhance their education.
Won’t you help us make 2011-2012 a special year for Itasca Community College and its students? Please consider a contribution to the ICC Foundation Annual Fund to continue the tradition of student support and to help Itasca remain the best place to start.
Thank you.
