IN-KIND GIFTS

The Foundation accepts in-kind gifts of equipment and supplies to assist Itasca Community College in providing the highest educational opportunities possible. We appreciate your calling the Foundation Office (218.322.2451) to see if there is a need for your possible gift.

MATCHING FUNDS

Increase the impact of your gift through Corporate Matching Gifts. Many employers (and former employers for retirees) match the charitable gifts of their employees. Ask your Human Resources department whether your employer matches charitable gifts. If it does match gifts, please obtain, complete, and submit a matching-gift form to multiply the value of your gift.

PLANNED GIFTS

Planning a deferred gift to the Itasca Community College Foundation is a practical way for you to actualize your philanthropic goals while realizing significant tax savings. A deferred gift is one that is committed to currently but is received by the Foundation at a future date. The following are examples of methods for making a deferred gift:

  • Wills
  • Charitable remainder trusts/charitable lead trusts
  • Charitable and deferred gift annuities
  • Retirement plan
  • Life insurance

We encourage donors who are considering making a planned gift to talk with their tax advisor and/or attorney to assist with the process.

PLEDGE

Donors can make a larger commitment to the college by making a written pledge. Pledges are usually paid in 3–5 years. Sustaining Gifts donors who wish to contribute to the Foundation on a monthly basis can do so through their checking or savings account. Call us at 218.322.2451 for details.

STOCKS, MUTUAL FUNDS & PROPERTY

Giving gifts of appreciated property is an excellent way for donors to benefit Itasca Community College Foundation and, at the same time, generate a tax savings. In many cases, capital gains taxes can be avoided by transferring the appreciated asset to the Foundation instead of selling it and donating the proceeds. The most common gifts of appreciated property include stock, mutual funds, and real property. Donors considering making such a gift are encouraged to talk to their tax advisor and/or attorney to assist with the process.
